Healing Art Images is proud to give a portion of its proceeds to Free Arts Minnesota. A non-profit organization that contributes to creativity and healing within our community. It is our hope to “pay it forward,” and inspire others to do the same.
Free Arts Minnesota is a non-profit organization that brings the healing powers of artistic expression to the at-risk youth of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding areas. With five full-time staff members, a handful of interns and part-timers, and over 300 mentors, They serve over 4,000 kids from toddlers to teenagers through all sorts of projects: the basics of finger painting to advanced skill programs like graphic design and screen printing with professionals. Creative outlets provide paths that help youth find safe alternatives and relief from depression and other emotional disorders, substance abuse, or constantly reliving traumatic experiences. Art allows kids to be directly involved with their healing process, as survivors and not as victims. Their dedicated mentors encourage, facilitate, and develop positive relationships between adults and peers. Interacting with mentors and peers also helps youth gain self-confidence and a willingness to express themselves freely. Free Arts shows children that being unique, getting messy, making mistakes, and being imperfect is completely fine and expected in life. Mistakes often make the most beautiful accidents.
